Endearing Exceptional Drama

All Creatures Great Small is drama at its best! Actors and actrees are perfectly cast. The charactersespecially Mrs. Hall, Siegfried Farnon, Helen Harriott, Richard Carmody, and Mrs. Pumphreyare endearing and very human. Nicholas Ralph is the spot-on James Herriot. As with all PBS Masterpiece (and Mystery) dramas, there is real dialogue and action that does not rely on special effects, violence, and blown-up sets as in most commercial network TV shows masquerading as adult entertainment. This is instead the real deal!

James Herriot s stories are worthy of watching time and time again. I am reading the books now and look forward to the next season. Best show on television.

Everything about this series is refreshing and worthwhile. From the beautiful rural scenery, the period costumes, fascinating early modes of transportations and historical events, the quirky village and farm characters, on-screen maturing friendships, the value given to not only animal life, but to human life, and the value of community - there is so much to value! This series has been an unexpected delight!

I absolutely love this show. I can't hardly wait for the following week to watch the next episode. I've waited over a year for season 4 to come out and today I was surprised to see that the first episode of season 4 had come out finally. Well put together with a constant threat in each episode. The portrayal of each character makes you grow close to each one. Beautiful designed as if the book is unfolding right in front of you.

ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

Great writing and character development, exquisite cinematography--add the love and care of animals with a little humor in a charming English village! Not since Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey have I been so drawn into such fine storytelling which makes me care so much about the characters. Since my mother introduced me to her James Herriott books many years ago, I have loved these people and what they do. Endearing relationships, quirky townspeople, pets and farm animals. The Christmas episodes and wedding made me weep. Lovely! Thank you!
